Hand Lay-Up

Hand laid up parts, both prepreg and wet layup, are at the core of the APEX Space & Defense Systems businesses. Other than our dedicated high volume filament winding facility in Wisconsin, all of our facilities manufacture using well established prepreg and wet layup processes and procedures. We are Nadcap accredited for hand layup as well as have approvals from key players in the defense market which validates our expertise.

We specialize in various forms of composite layup manufacturing and have significant experience of a wide variety of composite materials
Our technicians are highly skilled and trained in standardized manufacturing procedures, using customized tooling to build net shape products with minimal trimming and finishing.
We also have in-house paint booths, CNC machining, assembly and other supporting processes to ensure rapid production times and cost-effective, scalable manufacturing.
